When his daughter Nita is set to marry Atka, a young warrior from another tribe, Chilkoot observes his daughter as he dresses in her mother's wedding dress, and proudly comments upon her resemblance to her mother.
He then leads Nita to Atka, and requests the blessing of the Great Spirits upon their marriage.
Later, when Nita returne to wed Atka once again, he worriedly questions her upon her unhappiness.
When Nita is faced with the choice of remaining with him, or joining Kenai and Koda, he warmly expresses his love for her, despite any choice she makes.
