Mark Mancina and Phil Collins composed the score of the 2003 film Brother Bear as well as its soundtrack and unofficial complete score. "Nighttime On The Mammoths" was written to represent the scene in which Kenai and Koda ride on mammoths by night.
In the film
"Nighttime On The Mammoths" is heard in Brother Bear as a representation of the scene in which Kenai and Koda ride on mammoths by night. The score begins as Koda tells story after story about his life at the Salmon Run. The piece continues as Kenai and Koda discuss the Great Spirits, with Kenai blaming his brother Sitka for his current predicament and Koda admitting that he is happy to have known Kenai, for he has always wanted a brother. Finally, the piece ends as Sitka's eagle form watches the mammoths walk by, with the Great Spirits shining overhead.
- The tune of "On My Way" is heard briefly during "Nighttime On The Mammoths". It plays as Koda tells stories to Kenai while they are riding on the trunk of a mammoth.
- The "Northern Lights" theme is heard at the end of "Nighttime On The Mammoths".
