|“||Nita: He must have brought his entire village with him.
Taqqiq: Well, my sweet, this marriage is extremely important.
Siqiniq: That's why we came to help you get ready.
Before her niece Nita's wedding, Siqiniq arrives with Taqqiq to help her prepare. Though Nita states that she would rather prepare on her own, her aunts insist on helping her. The two get into various arguments, with Siqiniq believing that Nita should air-dry her hair, wear her hair down to frame her face, eat smoked salmon, wear a dress made of caribou fur, and don a seashell necklace.
Eventually, Nita grows exhausted by her aunts' bickering and sends them to bring her food. They leave in a hurry, delighted to be helping her. During the wedding itself, they hold the food aloft to Nita as she passes.
Later, Siqiniq attends Nita's wedding to Kenai.
Siqiniq is a short, plump woman with long black hair, which she wears in a braid. Her eyes are brown. She is identifiable by her outfit: a red parka with white trim.
Personality and traits
Like Taqqiq, Siqiniq is a busybody and overly helpful. Though excited for her niece Nita's wedding, Siqiniq proves to be overbearing, as she forces her own tastes on Nita, continually ignores Nita's requests, and bickers with Taqqiq. Despite this, she is good-hearted and loving, only wanting what's best for Nita.
