Brother Bear Favorite character: Kenai Favorite scene: Kenai choosing to stay a bear Favorite song: "Transformation" Rating: 10/10 This film is honestly incredible. It's my second favorite Disney film of all time, only behind The Lion King. The animation is beautiful, the songs are catchy and moving, the characters are lovable, and the story gets me right in the feels every time. I grew up with this movie, but it's managed to stay with me my whole life and continues to enchant me as if it's brand new each time I watch it. I wish this film got the recognition it deserves. It's so criminally underrated! Brother Bear 2 Favorite character: Koda Favorite scene: Kenai and Koda after the avalanche Favorite song: "Feels Like Home" Rating: 5.5/10 This film just...shouldn't exist. It adds nothing to the original. Most Disney "cheapquels" make the mistake of taking an action-adventure film and turning it into a romance, and Brother Bear 2 is no exception. I don't really care for any of the new characters; most are jokes, and Nita, the only serious one, is pretty selfish for trying to separate Kenai from Koda, who is an orphan and the entire reason why Kenai gave up being a human to begin with. Even the old characters act out-of-character, with Tuke being pretty horrible to Rutt and Kenai not even mentioning Sitka's death when watching the Great Spirits. Denahi and Sitka are not so much as name-dropped in this film, which is just dang offensive. But the worst part is that the writers almost ended the film with Kenai turning back into a human. You know, undoing the entire first movie. If that had happened, I would have TP'd Disney Studios. D:< The only redeeming feature of this film is baby Kenai.
